This is a true story and how my mantra came to life.

I started teaching at age 15 and in my first Pre Ballet class of 5-7 year olds, one little sassy girl named Maggie May asked me: “Miss Amanda what is your saying?”

I was extremely confused to this question and asked Maggie: ” What do you mean my saying?”

As little kids tend to have the best questions and are free spirits, you never know what they might say or what they are thinking…

Maggie: ” You know your saying? Like Arielle is always singing about being apart of your world and I think she just wants to try new stuff and explore. So my new saying is Always exploring! I think I want to be an explorer when I grow up!”

I think Maggie will forever and always be my kindred spirit. I almost fell over that a 7 year old had such deep thoughts about her mantra.

Me: “Well, Maggie I always want to inspire others to be a better person, I want to make a difference in the lives i touch and I want to always reach for greatness!”

Maggie: “That’s way too long Miss Amanda.”

Me (laughing)

Me: “Okay… how about… Inspire Greatness?”

Maggie: “I LOVE IT!”

Thus began a historical moment that would forever change me. I have used Inspire Greatness every since as my mantra and have chosen to live each day by the meaning. To “Inspire Greatness” in every life I touch!! To that sweet little Maggie May that changed my life… You will forever hold a special place in my heart!
